Build, package, test and release your software into the wild

Release Monkey is a framework that helps you streamline the process of getting your software from your developers to end users. Release Monkey takes various existing elements such as:
  • bug tracking
  • source code management
  • package creation
  • unit and functional testing
  • package distribution
and glues them all together into a process that automates all the boring bits you would rather not care about.

Release Monkey is very clever and wired out of his skull but he's also bone-lazy, so he intentionally tries to do as little as possible. Rather than reinventing the wheel he gets his grubby little fingers into existing tools such as bug trackers and source code management systems and makes them talk to each other. Release Monkey also builds on the work done to create robust software packaging systems for various Linux distributions such as Debian, Fedora, and OpenSuSE, to automagically prepare your software to be pushed out to multiple target deployment platforms.

Although Release Monkey originally only worked with Subversion, Flyspray, and the Debian package tools, we're busy training him to understand alternatives so that he can happily work with whatever tools the rest of your development team already uses. He's already smart enough to autobuild packages for Debian, Ubuntu, Red Hat, and SuSE and soon he'll be doing a class in Bzr 101.
